FORD - MODEL YEAR CHANGE OVER

The visual assets for the 2026 Transit Model Year Change Over (MYCO) presented a significant hurdle: the vehicle had not been professionally photographed in nearly nine years. As part of the MYCO team, I was responsible for launching the new Vehicle Homepage (VHP) with assets that felt modern, premium, and "2026-ready," despite the decade-old limited source material.

My objective was to revamp the digital presence for both the Retail and Commercial Transit models. I needed to bridge the gap between outdated photography and contemporary design standards, ensuring the VHP didn't just look like a facelift, but a complete digital evolution.

I approached this challenge with a "digital-first" mindset, focusing on technical precision and interactive storytelling. Since a new photoshoot wasn't an option, I led an intensive retouching effort. I personally oversaw Photoshop enhancements with guidance from our WPP Ford Product review and legal team. The Transit’s greatest selling point are its configurations, so I proposed and designed interactive animated GIFs to demonstrate the various roof heights and body lengths, along with its different seating options.

The 2026 Transit VHP launched to immediate success, proving that strategic design can overcome asset limitations. The site has reached over 175,000 views to date. We achieved a 45% engagement rate, and by prioritizing motion and layout over static, dated assets, I successfully shifted the user perception of the Transit from a utilitarian fleet vehicle to a modern, customizable solution for both families and businesses.

KCADC

KCADC’s, based in Kansa City, website had become difficult to navigate, with an overwhelming number of pages and no clear way for users to understand or explore available content. This fragmentation made it challenging for audiences to engage meaningfully with the organization’s offerings.

I was responsible for shaping the visual and interactive design system, ensuring it created a more engaging, personalized experience for users. I created the design of new components, a color palette, the idea to add unique illustrations as overlays for each page to match the theme of that page, and a neighborhood quiz to match each website visitor with a Kansas City neighborhood that matches their style.

To address the complexity of the site, I designed a flexible component system that could adapt to a wide range of content needs while maintaining visual consistency. Rather than relying on static page designs, I collaborated closely with developers to implement these components directly within a developer building tool—enabling KCADC’s team to dynamically build and update pages without compromising the design system. I also developed a refreshed color palette and introduced a layer of expressive illustrations tailored to each page’s theme. These overlays were designed to create a stronger emotional connection with users, reinforcing a sense of place and belonging. This approach extended into the concept and design of an interactive “neighborhood quiz,” which helped guide visitors toward Kansas City neighborhoods aligned with their preferences—transforming exploration into a more personalized and intuitive experience.

KCADC successfully launched the redesigned site, with a system that empowered their team to independently manage and evolve content which they love. The new design created a more engaging and navigable experience for users, supporting the organization’s goal of connecting audiences more effectively to Kansas City’s communities.

HELLO, DETROIT

I created "Hello, Detroit" to enter into a pitch competition seeking innovative ideas to uplift the city of Detroit. The core challenge addressed was that visitors often experience only the superficial layers of Detroit, missing out on its vibrant local culture and authentic experiences. Many also harbored outdated perceptions of safety, preventing them from exploring beyond mainstream attractions, which in turn limited economic benefits for local businesses and neighborhoods. There was a clear need to bridge this gap, allowing both tourists and suburban Detroiters to connect with the city's true soul, creativity, and resilience.

My task was to design and develop a mobile application that connects visitors with local Detroiters. This platform needed to facilitate authentic, people-centered experiences, thereby redefining tourism in the city and redirecting tourism dollars into local communities. I needed to create a design system, look and feel, and standard app features like in-app messaging, profile creation, and whatever else would be necessary for a demo.

I focused on creating an intuitive user experience where visitors could easily select interests (music, food, history, art, sports, or meeting new people), browse local guides offering unique experiences like coffee meetups or neighborhood walks, and then securely book and chat within the app. The design incorporated features such as an optional location-based AI-powered narration for premium users, providing historical context based on GPS location. I also defined a clear business model, including transaction fees, premium subscriptions, local business partnerships, and event collaborations, ensuring guide autonomy in pricing.

I successfully developed the concept and detailed plan for "Hello, Detroit," culminating in the submission of the project to the pitch competition.
